12:14 (a suckiness post)

Nothing very monumental has happened this week. I seem to only post when something really big, fun, exciting has happened. This is more a post of ... suckiness.

So, I got home from Grandmas house, and I am happy to be back. Except that, when my parents got back from Germany I didn't even get a hello. Dad grounded me and took away my car - because I had asked mom if Doug could sleep over (both our moms agreed, but apparently dad didn't like it). Needless to say, three hours later I got ungrounded and got the car given back. Mom talked some sense into dad. He is seriously crazy.

Another big surprise: Nick Kordis, a very old boyfriend found me on myspace and we've been talking, its been almost five years since we last spoke, so its weird. He wants to collaborate on some writing.

And some let downs, to balance things out (preemptive balancing, 'cause I hope the rest of the summer rocks): Friday the 13th is Alex's birthday, and he was gonna come over that morning, he couldn't. And then on Saturday Doug and I were going to go to Longwood Gardens, but its his best friends birthday, and is spending the weekend with him. Was going to go to a music festival, can't. Gonna be in upstate New York visiting Mary and seeing some tech schools I'm not really interested in. Also, I get to go to parking court for one ticket and then pay another ticket.

Other than that, I quit and then got rehired for my job. On the terms that mom find me a shrink in the next week, or I don't work for her. Seems to be working out nicely, but this shouldn't be the way to get mental help.

The benches are nowhere near done. I finished sanding the first one today (got to do the second sanding next), then wash, prime, and two coats of paint. This was promised to be a three day job, this is now, I believe, the third week.

Needless to say, the rest of this summer is going to rock. I hope.

3:16

The last few weeks have been pretty fun. Most of all last weekend.

Doug and I went to The Polyphonic Spree concert at the Filmore (the new name for the TLA). It was, the best concert I have ever been to. I did feel a little left out at first, because I hadn't yet listened to their new album.

A quick summary of what we did:
We stood in the crowd, I saw Tucker and his lady and we went over to chitchat for a bit before heading back to our five-feet-from-stage standing spot. The opening came out, I thought she was ok, not very original or nearly loud enough. Soon afterwards The Polyphonic Spree came out. Their first set was from the new album, The Fragile Army. I dont think I have ever seen a crowd so happy. People started to mosh and dance and sing. One guy, who had a costume sailors hat was being crazy. He would have been a jerk if he didn't have such a wonderful look of joy on his face.

The crowd was so excited and happy. It falls under the category of beautiful. After the first set they took a break and came out (walked through the audience to the stage) with the classic white robes. It must have been scary walking through the crowd, but it was great to see them all at eye level. The next set was amazing, more of their old stuff. All in all, it was fantastic.

So. That night Doug slept over and the next day we did.. what did we do? Oh right, we watched a not real Bond film (Never Say Never Again) and walked around south street. He slept over again that night. Sunday morning we went over to Ben's house for DnD. We actually played DnD for a few hours, had dinner, went swimming, made smores. Also a few failed attempts to catch fireflies (we caught two, and only got on in the jar), and lit some fireworks. I slept over again, it was cool, we watched Batman and flipped around the teevee for a while.

Monday morning we made some pancakes. Including mickey mouse and dong shaped pancakes. I drove Doug home and then went home myself.

Tuesday I got on a train to Providence (RI) then a bus to Hyannis (MA), because I am staying (against my will) at my grandmas house. I met a guy on the bus, he sat next to me and we talked for a few hours. We never exchanged names, so I now think of him as being an Eric. (But he did use my phone once, and the number he called called me back and asked for Dan). Thats about when I noticed my cell phone screen was cracked. A few pixels on the bottom of the screen are damaged. Not enough harm to warrant a new phone, but its enough where it pisses me off and hinders my ability to read the last line of some text messages.

So yeah. Its been pretty fun.

(Also: I am ALMOST done with the benches, and on tuesday or thursday of next week I start my new job of viral marketing and on wednesday I start at a clay studio. So I can actually do something with my time!)

EDIT: spelling
